Getting to the heart of the matter.
Every person has a story. My role is to help make sense of it. I start where you are, with an approach that allows space for your experience and feelings to guide the process. Together, we will determine the route you want to take in therapy and in your life.
While my approach can best be described as integrative, I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a therapeutic approach that emphasizes the importance of feelings to guide decision-making. EFT is especially effective for couples in all stages of their relationship. In addition, I work with interracial and interfaith couples to help foster greater cultural awareness and understanding.
Therapy often stirs up uncomfortable emotions. You may be plagued by self-doubt and inability to make decisions. I offer you a safe and non-judgmental space to grapple with the issues that brought us together. I value the relationship between client and therapist and believe it to be crucial in bringing about growth and change.
I'm not prescriptive (though I am not shy about sharing my perspective and asking questions). I am an active, fully present, empathetic, and curious listener. I see myself as your guide to interpreting your newfound insights or exploring past events, and to helping you develop tools to stay grounded in the face of events out of your control. I believe that every person has the ability to live a rich, meaningful life.
