My background and experience.
For more than 20 years, I have been helping people gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing tools to weather the inevitable ups and downs of life. I find the work deeply rewarding, and I take seriously the trust my clients place in me.
I earned my master's degree in counseling psychology from Antioch University. I interned at Catholic Community Services, where I worked with individuals, couples, and families. After graduate school, I served as a supervisor for the King County Crisis Clinic, where I managed the crisis line and advised local mental health professionals. In 2004, I became a certified life coach, adding a new dimension to my work with clients. I have a background in theater and have worked as an actor for numerous organizational trainings.
I have extensive group work and case management experience. I have worked in depth with new mothers dealing with parenting and relationship issues, as well as teenagers and adults in a variety of settings.
My personal experiences also influence my practice. I am mixed race and grew up in a blended and interfaith family in Hyde Park, an integrated neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. I lived abroad from 1990 to 1995. Seattle has been home for more than two decades.
